CHAMAL Natural Clay Tagine – 30cm

Bring the authentic flavors of Morocco to your kitchen with the CHAMAL Natural Clay Tagine. Handcrafted from unglazed terracotta clay, this traditional 30cm tagine is designed for slow cooking, allowing heat and steam to circulate evenly for rich, tender, and deeply flavorful dishes.

Product Highlights

  • Authentic Moroccan unglazed natural clay construction
  • 30cm diameter — ideal for family-sized meals (serves 4–6)
  • Conical lid traps steam and returns moisture to the dish for tender results
  • Decorative scalloped rim and side handles for easy handling
  • Suitable for stovetop (with diffuser), oven, and open flame cooking
  • Natural terracotta — no chemical coatings or glazes
  • Improves with use — develops a natural seasoning over time

How to Use

Before first use, soak the tagine in water for at least 2 hours, then rub the interior with olive oil and heat slowly in the oven at low temperature to season. Always use a heat diffuser on gas or electric stovetops to prevent cracking. Start on low heat and increase gradually. Avoid sudden temperature changes (thermal shock).

What to Cook

Perfect for classic Moroccan tagine recipes including lamb with prunes and almonds, chicken with preserved lemon and olives, kefta with eggs, and slow-cooked vegetable tagines. Also great for stews, braises, and rice dishes.

Dimensions & Specifications

  • Diameter: 30cm
  • Material: Natural unglazed terracotta clay
  • Weight: approx. 2.78kg
  • Color: Natural terracotta / earthy brown

Care Instructions

Hand wash only with warm water and a soft brush — avoid soap as it can be absorbed by the porous clay. Allow to dry completely before storing. Do not use in microwave or dishwasher.

Allergy / Safety Note

Unglazed clay is a natural, food-safe material. Ensure the tagine is fully seasoned before first use. Handle with care — clay is fragile and may crack if dropped or subjected to thermal shock.
